Quotations From Bhagavaan Sri Satya Sai Baba

I separated Myself from Myself,
So that I may love Myself.
See in Me yourself,
For I see Myself in all of you.
You are my life, My breath, My soul.
You all are My forms.
When I love you, I love Myself.
When you love yourself, you love Me.  …Sai Baba

In order to deserve God's grace, your faith should grow.
When you do not have faith, you cannot offer yourself. ... Sai Baba

The Moon shines at night,
The Sun make the day bright.
Dharma illumines all the three worlds.
A good son illumines the entire clan. ...Sai Baba

Keeping Love as the oil;
Vairaagya (Renunciation) as the container;
One-pointed concentration as the wick and
Tattwajnaana (Spiritual Wisdom) as the matchbox,
Light the lamp of Love to dispel the darkness of ignorance ...Sai Baba

“You have it in your power to make your days  on Earth

a path of flowers, instead of a path of thorns.

You must be a Lotus, unfolding its petals

when the Sun rises in the sky,

unaffected by the slush where it is born

or even the water which sustains it” ... Sai Baba

Truth is your true mother and Wisdom the true father,
Dharma is the true brother and Compassion the true friend;
The true wife is Peace and the true son Forgiveness,
These six are in fact the true relations of man. ... Sai Baba

"It is a fact that plants also have life like animals. But animals are endowed with mind, and nervous systems too while the plants do not possess the same. The animals cry and weep when they are being killed. It is not the case with plants; as such, equating killing of animals and destruction of plants is faulty logic. Further, killing the animals and eating their flesh leads to the creeping or dissemination of the animal qualities and behavior in to the man (meaning that man acquires the beastly qualities by eating animal flesh). Thus follows our acquiring the beastly qualities - tamasic nature - of the buffalos or the sheep. Hence, meat eating should be discarded.
Food conditions the nature of the mind. Mind guides the thinking. Thinking results in action. Actions lead to commensurate or matching results and effects. This chain of action between the food we eat and the results of our actions highlights the fact that meat eating leads to beastly actions and the concomitant evil effects."

Sathya Sai, The Avatar of Love, p. 132

All fairy tales don't begin, "Once upon a time..."
A lot of them start with, "If elected I promise..."

First, think. Second, believe.
Third, dream. And finally, dare. - Walt Disney

"A dream is in the mind of the believer, and in the hands of the doer"

“You are not given a dream, without being given the power to make it come true."

~You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. ...

~Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes rise to the stars...

~Enthusiasm is the spark in your eye,

the swing in your gait,

the grip of your hand,

the irresistible surge of your will

and your energy to execute your ideas.

Life is a paradise for those who love many things with a passion...Leo Buscaglia

If you are not getting as much from life as you want to, then examine the state of your enthusiasm... Norman Vincent Peale

"By focusing on positive, healthy motivations and letting the more negative ones pass, you can purify the source of you imaginative power." -- Denis Waitley

Life and Living

"The world is full of poetry. The air is living with its spirit; and the waves dance to the music of its melodies, and sparkle in its brightness." -- Percival

"The only way to live is to accept each minute as an unrepeatable miracle, which is exactly what it is - a miracle and unrepeatable." -- Margaret Storm Jameson

“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.

When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

All that we are is the result of what we have thought.

The mind is everything. What we think we become.”

... Buddha

Sri Vasudeva

"Let us try to practise what we preach so our actions, thoughts and words
will always be consistent."
"True love is a spiritual experience and when it enters our lives a glorious transformation begins,
and our world becomes one of joy."
"Believe fully in what you envision and feel that you have acquired it already.
However, create a vision that will lift you and others to true happiness."
"When the light is kindled within us,
we experience transformation
as our inner darkness begins to disappear."
"We cannot only talk peace; we have to become peace.
We cannot only talk love; we have to become love."

Swami Vivekananda

On our infinite nature: ~ "God made us angels of energy, encased in solids - currents of life dazzling through a material bulb of flesh. But through concentration on the frailties and fragility of the body bulb, we have forgotten how to feel the immortal, indestructible properties of the eternal life energy within the mutable flesh."

On health: ~ "Indulgence in constant thoughts of fear, anger, melancholy, remorse, envy, sorrow, hatred, discontent or worry; and lack of the necessities for normal and happy living, such as right food, proper exercise, fresh air, sunshine, agreeable work and a purpose in life, all are causes of nervous disease."

On happiness: ~ " Learn to carry all the conditions of happiness within yourself by meditating and attuning your consciousness to the ever-existing, ever-conscious, ever-new Joy which is God, Your happiness should never be subject to any outside influence. Whatever your environment is, don't allow your inner peace to be touched by it."

On immortality: ~ "The body is only a garment. How many times you have changed your clothes in this life, yet because of this you would not say that you have changed. Similarly, when you give up this bodily dress at death, you do not change. You are just the same - an immortal soul - a child of God."

On death: ~ "At death, you forget all the limitations of the physical body and realize how free you are. For the first few seconds, there may be a sense of fear - fear of the unknown, of something unfamiliar to the consciousness. But after that comes a great realization: the soul feels a joyous sense of relief and freedom. You know that you exist apart from the mortal body."

On temptation: ~ "When you say NO to temptation, you must mean NO. Don't give in. The spineless weakling all the time says YES. But great minds are full of NO's."

On good judgement: ~ "Always think first of what you are about to do, and how it will affect you. To act on impulse is not freedom, for you will be bound by the unpleasant effects of wrong actions. But to do those things your discrimination tells you are good for you is all-freeing. That kind of wisdom-guided action makes for a divine existence."

Dr. Brian Weiss

In his book, "Messages From The Masters", Dr. Weiss reveals some of the profound messages about life on earth and life beyond the body that he received from "Masters" or 'highly evolved souls not in physical form. Some excerpts are as follows:

~ "We choose when we will come into our physical state, and when we will leave. We know when we have accomplished what we have were sent down here to accomplish ... When you have had the time to rest and re-energize your soul, you are allowed to choose your re-entry back into the physical state."

~ "Our task is to learn, to become God-like through knowledge. We know so little... By knowledge we approach God, and then we can rest. Then we come back to teach and help others."

~ "Love is the ultimate answer. Love is not an abstraction but an actual energy, or spectrum of energies, which you can "create" and maintain in your being. Just be loving. You are beginning to touch God within yourself. Feel loving. Express your love.

Love dissolves fear. You cannot be afraid when you are feeling love. Since everything is energy, and love encompasses all energies, all is love."

~ "When you are not experiencing the present, when you are absorbed in the past or worried about the future, you bring great heartache and grief to yourself."

~ "Co-existence and harmony... Everything must be balanced. Nature is balanced. The beasts live in harmony. Humans have not learned to do that. They continue to destroy themselves. There is no harmony, no plan to what they do. It is so different in nature. Nature is balanced. Nature is energy and life ... and restoration. And humans just destroy. They destroy nature. They destroy other humans. They will eventually destroy themselves."
